Senior Accountant

Mode: Hybrid (4 days onsite). Only open to US citizens

Job Description
We are actively seeking an experienced finance professional to join our corporate accounting and finance team in Fairfax, VA.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and a solid understanding of accounting principles and related functions. These include managing the recording and reconciliation of cash (bank), overseeing accounts receivable and accounts payable transactions, monitoring cashflow, managing the maintenance and reconciliation of Inventory & fixed assets, handling client invoicing and PO generation, and owning month-end closing and reporting.


Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Overseeing Processes and Staff:
    • Supervise remote accounting team
    • Monitor work and provide guidance as needed
    • Review and improve processes as necessary

  2. Cash Flow Management:
    • Monitor and optimize overall cash flows and project costs
    • Identify and mitigate operational, inventory, and vendor/client related risks

  3. Accounts Receivable Management:
    • Process client quotes and invoices accurately according to internal policies
    • Manage and reconcile Accounts Receivable, ensuring timely collections

  4. Accounts Payable Management:
    • Record vendor invoices accurately and timely, matching purchase orders and justifying any discrepancies
    • Monitor Accounts Payable aging and schedule timely payments to vendors

  5. Month-end Closing, Financial Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare timely financial reports in compliance with Financial Reporting Standards
    • Ensure accuracy and integrity of accounting information through rigorous verification and consolidation of transactions

  6. Budgeting and Forecasting:
    • Collaborate with department managers to develop annual budgets and forecasts
    • Monitor budget adherence, analyze variances, and recommend cost optimization strategies

  7. Inventory and Fixed Asset Management:
    • Track movements of Assets across locations
    • Account for portions of cost of goods sold (COGS) from inventory and maintain proper depreciation of fixed assets based on additions schedule

  8. Financial Modeling:
    • Develop financial models and present analytics to support Sales, Marketing, and R&D teams

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Economics.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management.
  • Minimum 3 years experience with SaaS finance and revenue
  • Experience in US Government Contracting and GSA Schedule is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of internal controls, corporate policies, and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical skills and business acumen.
  • Proficiency in Quickbooks, spreadsheets and presentation applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Must be a US citizen.
