Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Finance Manager with experience in the
technology/software/cybersecurity industry to join our team in Fairfax, VA. This individual will be
pivotal in managing financial operations, analyzing trends, and providing strategic insights to
support sound business decisions. Additionally, the Senior Finance Manager will supervise the
accounting team and be responsible for the accuracy, detail, and proper accounting practices of the
organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Accounting and Financial Management: Utilize your extensive accounting
and financial management experience to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial data and
reports. Oversee proper accounting practices and compliance with accounting standards.
- Supervision of Accountant: Provide leadership and guidance to the
accounting team, ensuring their work aligns with financial best practices and organizational goals.
- Pricing Strategy: Develop and implement pricing strategies that align
with our business goals and market dynamics. Ensure pricing models are competitive and maximize
profitability.
- Proper Costing: Oversee proper costing methodologies to accurately
calculate the cost of products and services. Analyze cost structures and recommend cost-saving
measures.
- Invoicing Management: Manage the invoicing process to ensure timely and
accurate billing to clients and customers. Monitor invoicing workflows and resolve discrepancies.
- Cash Management: Effectively manage cash flow to support daily
operations and investment opportunities. Develop strategies to optimize working capital.
- Accounts Payable (AP): Oversee the AP process, including vendor
management, invoice processing, and payment scheduling. Monitor AP aging and negotiate favorable
payment terms.
- Accounts Receivable (AR): Manage the AR process, including customer
billing, collections, and reconciliations. Minimize outstanding receivables and ensure timely cash
collections.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models
to analyze and forecast business performance, profitability, and investment opportunities. Utilize
advanced Excel skills to create dynamic and accurate models for strategic planning and resource
allocation.
- Data Analysis and Insights: Conduct in-depth financial analysis,
interpret data, and identify trends to provide valuable insights to senior management. Present
findings clearly and concisely to support critical business decisions.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with various departments to
develop annual budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget adherence, analyze variances, and provide
recommendations for cost optimization and resource allocation.
- Business Performance Reporting: Prepare and present regular financial
reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Communicate financial
results, key performance indicators (KPIs), and other relevant metrics to stakeholders.
- Financial Presentations: Create compelling and visually appealing
presentations for executive leadership, board members, and investors. Effectively communicate
complex financial concepts concisely and understandably.
- Risk Management: Identify financial risks and develop strategies to
mitigate them. Work closely with auditors to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and
industry standards.
- Process Improvement: Continuously enhance financial reporting and
analysis processes to increase efficiency and accuracy. Implement best practices and innovative
solutions to streamline financial operations.
- Financial Strategy: Collaborate with the executive team to shape the
organization's financial strategy. Provide expert financial advice to support long-term planning and
drive overall business objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- Postgraduate degree in financial management or industry-related certifications a plus
- Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting and financial management
- Minimum 3 years experience with SaaS finance and revenue
- Experience in US Government Contracting and GSA Schedule is a plus
- Strong knowledge of internal controls, corporate policies, and compliance
- Excellent analytical skills and business acumen
- Meticulous attention to detail and a strong desire to delve into data for strategic insights
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, spreadsheets and presentation applications
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Must be a US citizen
