Job Brief

  • Installs, modifies and makes minor repairs to computer hardware and software systems. Resolves staff-generated technical requests or problems and troubleshoots technical and process issues to maintain productivity
  • Hardware support specialist develops, designs, and tests computer hardware, electro-mechanical components, peripheral devices, for computer and electrical systems
  • Duties may include designing and testing hardware components, analyzing test data, eliminating errors, modifying existing hardware, and designing hardware for other electrical devices

Job Roles & Responsibilities

  • Familiarity with Government’s procedures and requirements for HSPD-12, knowledge about Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM), PIV (Personal Identity Verification) integration, Biometrics and Credential Management System (CMS) is a plus
  • Design new products and maintain all hardware components, and interconnects
  • Provide technical and non-technical support
  • Develops, implements product designs and provides support to production, and ensures compliance with timeframe, quality, and cost targets
  • Manage technical aspects and monitor the efficient deployment of innovative technologies and systems
  • Perform market research using various techniques such as market surveys and search engines to ensure the product compatibility with Management technical architectures
  • Analyze all product performance pricing and ensure adherence to life period forecasts, and product distribution
  • Coordinate with product development teams to perform design for testability on the design cycle
  • Field service, deployment, and troubleshooting to customer and remote office locations required

Qualifications & Requirements

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related scientific or technical discipline is preferred
  • Position requires 3 to 5 years of relevant experience supporting technical hardware projects of similar size, scope, and complexity
  • Proven hardware device integration experience
  • Prior experience with biometric devices, document scanners, and USB devices is a plus
