Engineering Manager

Position Overview
NextgenID is seeking a dynamic and technically skilled Engineering Manager to join our innovative team. This role requires technical mastery in both hardware and software development, with a strong preference for experience in biometric and document capture and imaging systems. The ideal candidate will lead and supervise the Development, QA, and Technical Service teams, ensuring seamless collaboration and delivery of NextgenID’s cutting-edge solutions. The Engineering Manager will report directly to the CTO and play a pivotal role in driving the technical execution of our identity proofing solutions. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the engineering team to develop, enhance, and maintain both hardware and software solutions for NextgenID’s innovative offerings.
  • Supervise the Development, QA, and Technical Service teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and company objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with the CTO to drive technical strategies and oversee their implementation.
  • Spearhead the development and integration of biometric systems, document capture and imaging systems, and advanced hardware solutions.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Stay updated on advancements in biometric technology, document imaging, hardware development, and software systems to maintain technical leadership.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous learning.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Sales, and Operations, to ensure technical solutions align with client and business needs.
  • Develop and optimize workflows for engineering, QA, and technical services to maximize efficiency and collaboration.
  • Maintain a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in both hardware and software development, with a preference for expertise in biometric systems, document capture, and imaging technologies.
  • Proven experience leading engineering teams, including Development, QA, and Technical Service teams, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical skills in programming, hardware design, and system integration relevant to NextgenID’s offerings.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus but secondary to hardware and software expertise.
  • Familiarity with IoT devices, hardware integration, and advanced imaging systems is highly desirable.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to address complex technical challenges effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
